Fair Play Trophy

Ledley King was presented with the Barclays Premier League's 2007-08 Fair Play trophy at the launch of the league's 'Get On With The Game' campaign on Tuesday.

We finished top of the Fair Play League last term with an 8.56-point average out of 10 from 38 games putting us ahead of Liverpool and Manchester United on 8.41 and Arsenal on 8.38.

Points are awarded for positive play, respect towards opponents and referees and the behaviour of club officials with red and yellow cards counting against the total.

The league winners are rewarded with a place in the UEFA Cup but as we'd already qualified by winning the Carling Cup, the place went all the way down to sixth and Manchester City.

Captain Ledley said: "Fair play is something we take very seriously and it's great for the club to pick us this award. Red and yellow cards are part of it and as a team, you don't want to see players sent off or pick up needless suspensions.

"We want to play hard but fair, show respect and this award shows we've done that."
