We have finished second in Group G of the UEFA Cup after the final round of
matches played on Wednesday night.
Getafe beat Anderlecht 2-1 at the Coliseam
Alfonso Perez to top the group. Anderlecht finish third on five points and go
through to the Round of 32 ahead of Danish side Aalborg, who beat
Hapoel Tel Aviv 3-1 on Wednesday night.
Finishing second means we will face
one of the eight third-placed sides from the UEFA Champions League groups -
Olympique de Marseille, Rosenborg BK, Werder Bremen, SL Benfica, Rangers,
Sporting Clube de Portugal, PSV Eindhoven and SK Slavia Prague - with home
advantage in the second leg.
UEFA Cup group winners will be drawn against
teams finishing third.
The draw for both the Round of 32 and Round of 16 of
the UEFA Cup takes place in Nyon, Switzerland at noon on Friday.
The
first leg of the Round of 32 will be played on February 13/14 with the return on
February 21.
