Martin Jol said we won't know the full extent of Gareth Bale's injury until
we get back the results of scans scheduled for Tuesday.
The youngster started
brightly in a left midfield role at Newcastle on Monday but his evening came to
a sad end after only 20 minutes when Geremi came down on his right foot in a
tackle. He tried to continue but couldn’t go on and was replaced by Teemu
Tainio. Martin reported at St James Park on Monday night: “Gareth's foot is
swelling up. We have to scan him tomorrow and hopefully he won’t be out for
long.”
