Lee Barnard scored his second goal in Crewe colours on Saturday, but his
team failed to press home their advantage and fell to a 3-2 defeat away at
Oldham Athletic.
It was not the best of days for our loanees with the
exception of two, with Jamie O'Hara in the Millwall side that lost 2-1 at home
to Swindon, while Ben Alnwick debut for Luton ended in a 2-0 defeat at
Huddersfield. Success was enjoyed by Phil Ifil in his first game for
Southampton, the Saints recording a 2-1 victory at Sheffield United and Charlie
Daniels, who was a 76th minute substitute and helped Leyton Orient turn a 2-1
deficit into a 3-2 victory over Bristol Rovers. Meanwhile, our Carling Cup round
four opponents Blackpool registered a 1-1 draw away at Watford in the
Championship.
